Fun in DQ

The boys and I have enjoyed our time with my family in DeQueen. Parker has loved playing with Oaklee and I have enjoyed some much needed down time. Patrick drove down today to join us. We've been enjoying yummy food and great company. This is a pic of my parents with P & G and my nieces Oaklee and Olivia.

Future Model?

Maybe not. I was trying to capture Avery's fun Razorback collar in the picture with the hog canvas. She's cute, but too uncomfortable for modeling.

Body Art?

I'm really a tidy person. I enjoy things being neat and tidy. However, when it comes to painting, this is NOT the case. I can't figure it out, but I'm a mess when I paint (and so is the area in which I'm painting). I've been painting a lot lately to get ready for the boutique show. I have a certain technique that I use when I paint and I always get the excess paint off on my arm. It produces the perfect amount of paint on the brush. I know it's weird. This is how my arm looked tonight after painting. Now I'm off to go clean up and scrub my arm...

G Man

Griffin is now 6 1/2 months old. On Friday he went to his 6 month check up. He weighed in at an astounding 21.4 lbs. (90%) and is 28.5 inches long (110%). I'm still amazed at how big both of my boys are. Who would have known? We knew G was big, but didn't realize he was 110% big-That's Huge!

P & G

It's so fun to watch P & G interact with each other. They both love each other so much. Parker is really ready for Griffin to start walking (and so am I....21 pounds is hard to carry!). Parker was excited when it rained yesterday. He loves to play in his "puddle" as he refers to it. Unfortunately the almost 30 degree temperature drop cut his puddle time short. We are so ready for spring!

LK Art

Since December, I've been hired to do several paintings. I have really enjoyed creating things for other people. I decided to have a booth at the NWA Boutique Show that will be held the last Saturday of April. I just found out last weekend that I got accepted into the show, so I've been trying to get somewhat organized. I created a blog for all of my artwork. These are some of canvases that I will be selling at the show. You can click on my logo on the sidebar to view my work.

6 Months

I can hardly believe that Griffin is 6 months old. It goes by so fast. He is beginning to sit up, eat vegetables, and he cut his first tooth. He weighs 21 pounds! Parker was actually about the same size when he was 6 months. Parker is his favorite person in the world. We've been blessed with two big boys! Razorbacks, here we come!

Thanks Springdale!

We had a massive pile of limbs from the ice storm....until today. Go Springdale! Way to be on top of it. This entire truck was filled 1 1/2 times just from our yard. Evidently there is a bumper sticker out there that says "Springdale, it's not that bad." I think a more appropriate bumper sticker should be "Springdale, it's pretty darn good." I heart Springdale for a lot of reasons, but especially for their super quick timing of picking up our debris!

"Camel Fly"

Parker's response when putting on his camouflage pants yesterday: "I love my camel fly pants, they're my favorite."

5 Months

I'm not sure how it happened, but Griffin is already 5 months old. We gave him rice cereal for the first time....he didn't really have any reaction. Judging by his size, I'm pretty certain he will discover a love for food pretty soon. He's growing so much! It's pretty apparent that we are going to have two big boys!

Paintings

The ice storm brought more time for painting.  This is what I worked on.  The Olivia canvas is two canvases...I attached the top one onto the striped one.

Meet Olivia

This weekend we went to DeQueen to meet our new niece Oliva Anne.  She is adorable, just like her big sister Oaklee.  It is going to be a lot of fun watching all these little guys (and girls) grow up together.  Welcome sweet girl, we love you so much!

Painting

Parker and Griffin hanging out with "Gig" and "Papa Russ" (and Sam, their dog).
The first picture is a painting I did for Patrick's parents.  The colors are different than the previous abstracts that I have done.

Silly Parker

Parker is into posing for pictures.  It can be hilarious...it can also be annoying when  you are really trying to get a good picture.  He usually has a different pose for each snap.  Thankfully, it's nothing a little candy can't fix!

4 Months

It's so hard to believe, but Griffin is 4 months old.  Here are his stats:
16 lbs. 4 oz. = 75%
26 1/4 inches long = 80%
It looks like he is in the "big boy club" too.  He has affectionately earned the name
"Chub-a-lub" (at least that is what Parker and I refer to him as).  He is sitting in the Bumbo, he has noticed his hands and feet, he laughs occasionally, and has just started taking his paci out (he hasn't figured out how to get in).

My projects....

The week before Christmas I painted three canvases.  It was the first time that I had been hired....so exciting!  I always enjoy painting canvases for girls because I never get to use pink around here!

Christmas Pics

Our favorite cousins...Clay & Esma

Cindy, soon to be Olivia, & I

What a wonderful blessing family is.  I am so thankful that we were able to celebrate Christ's birth with our family.  We really tried hard to focus on the true meaning of Christmas with Parker.  We lit the advent candles every night in December and read from the bible.  We talked about Jesus being the perfect gift and that is why we give gifts to others.  He loved to help light the candles....he would always say, "Jesus is the light of the world."
