**Update on Carson

Since December we've been hurrying up and waiting (alot) on various doctor's appointments to see what was wrong with Carson's tongue. He was born with a large tongue, but as he got older, it grew substantially larger. In January, we finally got into a pediatric ENT. She immediately thought something was inside of his tongue. So....two weeks later, off to Children's hospital we go. We were so thankful (and very blessed) to be under the care of Dr. Gresham Richtor (a pediatric ENT at Children's who is a lymphatic specialist). Dr. Gresham felt strongly that Carson had "microcystic lymphatic malformations" in his tongue which could not be removed, but instead, would be controlled by shots in his tongue for the rest of his life. He was supposed to receive his first shot last week while he was getting tubes, but his MRI proved something different. Instead, he was diagnosed with "Macrocystic lymphatic malformations" in his tongue and on the floor of his mouth. These are cysts in the tongue that develop because his lymph nodes in his tongue do not function properly. The good news is that it's a better diagnosis than what they originally thought. However, it does require surgery on the side of his tongue and possibly under his chin. Dr. Richtor is hopeful to be able to remove all the cysts and he also said that Carson would have a fully functioning tongue (praise God)! The crazy thing is that these macrocystic cysts have NEVER been found in the tongue before. He said Carson could possibly be a case study. Wow. We head to Little Rock for Carson's surgery on May 8th. He should be in the hospital for 1-2 nights. Please be praying for our little guy. We are so thankful for relief soon and are trusting in God's perfect plan for Carson!

Our "spooky eyebrow" jack-o-lantern

We had a busy and fun filled Halloween. Griffin wanted to be "Ryan Mallek" aka Ryan Mallet. Parker wanted to be Joe Adams. So naturally, Carson was a Razorback football player as well. I know one, thing...their dad and I are definitely their biggest fans!

Our Little Man is 10 Months Old!

This year has definitely flown by! Carson is 10 months old and taking out some milestones:
He started crawling at 7 months
He started walking at 10 months
He has 5 teeth (with 4 on the way)
He's in the 95% for height and weight
He had his first stitch...a walking accident
He says, "mama, dada, and uh-oh"
He likes to give high fives

We love our little CAR-SO!

Parker turns 6

Parker turned 6! My boys are growing up so fast! September also brought the first visit the tooth fairy.

Griffin turns 3!

Our funny, energetic little guy turned 3. He constantly makes us laugh. We always have a funny "Bippy" story to tell (that is what he refers to himself as). We love you so much Griffin!

It's so hard to believe, but Parker started Kindergarten this year! It's been a change for all of us, but definitely a good one! We absolutely love his teacher, Mrs. Wiegel!

Catch Up

Parker played T ball for the first time. His team's name was the Rockies. He absolutely loved it! He's excited to get play T ball again this fall.

The boys did great with their swim lessons at Swim Ranch!

Chunky Monkey

This little chunky monkey is 5 months old today! I love every ounce of him! He is such a good baby! Here are his month stats/accomplishments:
21 lbs. 8 oz.
He has started eating peas
He loves his brothers and giggles at them all the time
He loves to hold anything you give him
he rolls over (only when he's asleep)
he currently has his 3rd double ear infection (hello tubes!)

Heels & Hills

Last weekend, the Marathon Mamas headed to Irving, TX to run in the "Heels & Hills" half marathon. I'm not sure if you can read it, but our shirts say, "13.1 miles of peace and quiet". These girls have been such a blessing to me. I enjoy every minute of our time together! We all successfully finished the half marathon, even though the weather was not cooperative!

Easter was very wet! We still trudged through the rain to make it to church...what a beautiful service it was. We talked about how Christ's death for our sins was such a beautiful exchange. Undeserving? Yes, but beautiful nonetheless. I have had the Matt Maher song stuck in my head all day, such beautiful lyrics to capture the essence of Easter:

Let no one caught in sin remain

Inside the lie of inward shame

We fix our eyes upon the cross

And run to him who showed great love

And bled for us

Freely you've bled for us

Christ is risen from the dead

Trampling over death by death

Come awake come awake

Come and rise up from the grave

Christ is risen from the dead

We are one with him again

Come awake come awake

Come and rise up from the grave

Beneath the weight of all our sin

You bowed to none but heaven's will

No scheme of hell no scoffer's crown

No burden great can hold you down
