My parents came up this weekend and my mom wanted a pear painting, so this is what we came up with. Of course Parker wanted to paint too, so here is his creation.
The red's in your painting are what I'm trying to achieve on the canvas in my living room. I'm having such a hard time keeping the colors from blending to a mud-like color. Do you allow more drying time between the other colors when you are using several like you did in the pear picture? HELP!! You should really teach classes.
Oh Val, if you only saw me when I paint....I like to use a true red and add brown to it. It's best to use the tube acrylic paints and not the ones in the bottle (I do use both, but when mixing paint I prefer the squeeze tube kind). Red is hard because it streaks, so I usually add streaks of brown to it. I do not let it dry in between coats. I hope this helps.
I'm a wife & a mom. I enjoy running, hiking, cheering on the Razorbacks & doing anything creative. I am seeking to love the LORD with all my heart, soul, mind, & strength.

Lindsey, you have such a gift! I wish I could paint like that! If you are looking to do some girly paintings, let me know! :)
Is Parker available for commissions? I'm very impressed with his work!
Seriously, though, your mom's turned out great! =)
